I was inspired by Naima on Twitter to do this challenge. I love music. I love black music in all of its glory. I love how it makes people feel, how it makes me feel. This one was made back in 2019.

DAY 4: I’ll go with “Knuck if You Buck” by Crime Mob. Aht aht! Don’t judge me! I don’t have an ounce of physical fighting in me!
Day 5: “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do)” by Joe
Day 6: I don’t have a favorite… but one that I can think of is Lil Mo f/ Fabolous “Superwoman Pt. II”
Day 7: There are some great collabs, but my favorite HANDS DOWN… is Deborah Cox & RL “We Can’t be Friends.” I will sing this to the high heavens!
Day 8: As of now …my favorite is “Finesse Remix” – Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B (Yes, I know they’re not black but Bruno’s band is black and they are the BOMB.)
Day 9: For Dad: “You Are the Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder… because we danced to it at my Debutante Ball (Deb 2009). For Mom: Any Charlie Wilson song will do! Let’s go with “There Goes My Baby”
Day 10: Any Chris Brown video or B5 video! So I’ll go with Chris Brown “Wall to Wall
Day 11: “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince. An Honorable Mention: “Feels Like Summer” by Childish Gambino
Day 12: I didn’t have one of those… so I’ll go with “I’m in Love With Jesus” by New Direction
Day 13: “My Girl” by The Temptations. Any song by The Temptations reminds me of my Papa
I couldn’t watch the movie for a whole year after he died.
Day 14: “All Things Get Better” Geoffrey Golden
Day 15: Hmmm… I don’t know if there would be a such thing. I’d say a song that makes a lasting impression in the hearts of people, can stand the test of time, and any generation can bop to it
