Dear Diondra,

You’re coming up to a whole new school year. Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself. I know you had a very rough start while walking down your career path. Very rough. Among other adversities, there were some nights you’ve cried. You were also depressed on a regular basis. You even doubted yourself and your choice of being this profession. You even thought of other options to pursue. But something drew you back in, some type of light. It was almost like faith the size of a mustard seed. I’m glad you listened to the voice from within and didn’t give up.

I’m sure you’re nervous because it’s a brand new school year. I’m sure there are a lot of things going on inside of your head that don’t make sense. But I want you to keep something in mind: you are smarter and stronger than you think. If you count your grad program, then you’re coming up on 4 years in the game now. You may not be a vet, but you have experience under your belt. You just need to show it. Come into this school year with a positive mindset and leave with a full heart. Don’t worry about the future. Focus on what’s in front of you right now.

Oh and by the way, I’m glad that you enjoyed your summer break. I’m even more glad that your mind is in a better place this time. I’m very proud of you and I can’t wait to see you grow.

Love Always,
Diondra

In my normal talks alone in my car (don’t judge me) I had this thought of writing a letter to myself. I would encourage you all to do the same one day. Sometimes, you have to encourage yourself instead of waiting on others to validate the information that you already know. Go for it 🙂

Also…

I’ve been blogging since 2010… but I’ve had this blog-site for ONE WHOLE YEAR NOW! YAAYYY! I have some ideas in mind so hopefully, I can get to them this year! In the mean time, check out a blog post I made last year called A Year of Soul Searching… or something like that.
